V/ i i Mr. A1 Freeman The Sands Hotel Las Vegas, Nevada 89109 * Dear A1: We have just completed finalizing the outline for our Fall Convention presentation at The Sands Hotel on February 17. The attached script will give you some idea as to the type of program we will be presenting to our sales force. In conjunction with the convention, our art director, Mr. Sam Nichols, is sending to your attention a complete layout of the room setup and the various props needed which will have to be produced locally there. My own personal requirements which are listed on Page 1A of the attached outline consist of three individual follow spots with colored gels and operators, two 35mm slide projectors, four 16mm sound - motion picture projectors, two large tape recorders which can be plugged into your present house sound system and eight inter-corn headsets, all connected to the master control table. I had discussed this with your local telephone company and they assured me that the inter-com headset units would be available. Should the slide projectors, motion picture projectors and tape recorders not be available at the hotel, Ifm sure they could be rented locally. In addition to the actual show, we have also finalized our 1970 Fall advertising program. It will include the following material: A. Four-color spreads in the March 4, 11, 18 and 25 editions of Womenys WearJDaily^ the March 15 issue of Clothes Magazine, and the March-April issue of .Sportswear Merchandiser. These are "bibles" for the retail trade which has a circulation of approximately 40,000 people in major retail stores throughout the country. B. Our national ad schedule will consist of a four-color spread in the July issue of .^demoiselle, four-color spread in August Cosmopolitan, four-color spread In August Glamour, a four-color page in the August 30 issue of the New York Times magazine section and a four-color spread In September One of the above productions would be devoted to a "Sands11 Hotel spread. The attached layout will give you a better indication. Al, I would like to suggest for your consideration the August spread in Glamour magazine which has a 1,400,000 circulation and a space cost of $20,000. This market would be the right age group to approach.
