I agree.PROMOTION REPORT re: Epic Records National Convention In a brief discussion with John Mahan, west coast manager for Epic Records, the matter of the closing talent show using Epic artists was discussed, but Mahan indicated it was too early to determine what the program would be. He indicated there was some problem in lining up artists. By way of example, they had been counting on Nancy Ames, but she can't make it due to an engagement in Los Angeles. Apparently they may be having similar difficulties with other artists. Mahan did say that there would be a show. He was definite on this, but wasn't sure of the presentation. On the subject of proceeds, Mahan said they were (company officials) considering the idea of charging an admission price ($1 or $2) and donating this to a local charity. He indicated Len Levy would discuss this with you further, in an attempt to ascertain the best local charity for such a donation. No discussion was held on bar proceeds, in fact Mahan didn't seem sure whether the bar would be open for the event. The only other topic discussed was the marquee, and I just now received a letter from Mahan (as attached) spelling out his request
