I agree.THE ANGELBREAD FOUNDATION T H E S A N D S H O T E L LAS VEGAS, NEVADA DUD L E Y 7 1 0 0 7/1/58 Dear Mr. Farley, It was nice talking to you tonight and 1 am sorry the hoys didn't go for the idea of radio spots this weekend. X would like you to explain to them that there will be a huge, captive audience riding around in automobiles this weekend with their radios on, and that this would be a wonder- ful time to hit them with an effective, short spot. We can't expect them to run out and buy the bread right may because it is a holiday week- end ?╟÷ but mark toy words, you would see a pretty good jump the early part of next week. Spot radio, when it's handled right, is the quickest "booster shot" that advertising has ?╟÷ and in the large markets it's very hard to buy time on these weekends because advertisers know how valuable this captive audience is. X am enclosing a record with seven different short spot announcements on it ?╟÷ they vary in theme, so let the boys listen to them to see which they like best. X personally like the one that says, "Angellta's Bread ?╟÷ only if you love your family enough to serve the finest bread baked in 30 years," but you people might think this is a little too bold. We have underplayed the delivery of all these messages to fit in with the theme of "angelic ?╟÷ heavenly toast ?╟÷ home-made, etc." By that X mean we don't go blasting out the message in a short, staccato tone ?╟÷ but rather stay to a quiet, soothing effect. This is especially effective upon the listener who has been pounded all day long by rock 'n roll and loud jingles and hard-hitting commercials, listen to them and judge for yourself.
