I agree.September 11, 1966 'MKOiWllilll Col* A. C. Kelly 238 Quyentin San Antonio, Texas 78201 Dear Col. Kelly: Yes, $100.?╟÷ is the complete entry fee for as long as you last. This qualifies you for all guaranteed prizes. If pou want to enter the sweepstakes, you must put up an additional $100 per pair ?╟÷ but you need not enter the sweepstakes to cmppete for the $20,000 in guaranteed prizes* The preliminary matches will be 8 deals of straight rubber bridge ?╟÷-vulnerability as earned, scoring as in rubber bridge. We will have a movement ?╟÷ similar to the Mitchell movement in duplicate. Winners of each match will be those who get most points. Conceivably, those who get best cards will win. We expect that the skillful players will beat the unskillful players. We expect some well-known pairs, but 5 will get you 6 hhat some lesser-Inown pair will win* The accnmmodat.ions at the Sands will be pretty standard. I don't know the prices, but they will not be excessive. They are not out to make expenses by overpricing the rooms. The rooms will be exactly what thyy are at other times -- which is very much in line with resort standards ?╟÷?╟≤ and are highly competitive. We have no connection with the ACBL and don't give a hoot about their eensure or non-censure of players. I ggree with you about the general run pf ACBL directors. However, I will have twop good ACBL directors there to give rubber bridge rulings. We need people who know the laws. I played bridge before World War II, so I imagine we have many similar experiences. We will welcomd you and your firends with open arms. Tell them that they will have a royal high time ?╟÷ and some good bridge. If they play well they may win some rather big prizes, but they're sure to have a fine time even if they bollix up their good hands. Hope to see you there. Sincerely, Alfred Sheinwild
