I agree.7/18/66 From: A1 Freeman/ Sands Hotel/ Las Vegas, Nevada Release: Upon receipt ?? ENTRATTER ANNOUNCES RED SKELTON CONCERT FOR SUNDAY IN SANDS HOTEL GRAND BALLROOM Las Vegas, Nevada (July 18)....... A concert of music composed by Red Skelton will be held in the Sands Hotel Grand Ballroom At 2:30 p.m., Sunday, July 20th. The program, presented by Jack Entratter, Sands president and show producer, will be the second Las Vegas concert dedicated to music composed by Skelton* At last year's concert, more than two thousand persons attended the afternoon program which featured an array of music from marches to polkas. Again this year, the music selected will offer a wide range of tempos and instrumentation with Don Ferris conducting the Las Vegas "Pops" Concert Orchestra. Antonio Morelli is concert director. Skelton began writing music several years ago and since has composed nearly five hundred songs, more than half of which are copywrited. He has a unique way of composing in that he is not an accomplished musician. Frequently he simply hums the melody into a tape recorder and the tape is than interpretted by Ferris who does the arrangement. While in Las Vegas, Skelton works on his music poolside sitting at a portable piano. Often he works in the hot sun while wearing a plastic raincoat over his swimming suit. "I'll lose five pounds in a few hours this way and i'll lose another five after my two shows tonight," Skelton said. "That way I can eat all I want," he laughed.
