Perkins met his wife, the former Eileen Godbold, at Port Said, Egypt, while serving in the African middle east theater. The Perkins have two children, ages 7 and 3. He has held a deputy sheriff's commission in Clark county since 1938 and, for three years, was special officer at Railroad Pass Casino.
