IT IS WITH HUMILITY THAT I THANK GOVERNOR PAUL LAXALT FOR HIS KIND INTRODUCTION; I CONSIDER IT AN HONOR TO HAVE BEEN CHOSEN AS THE SPEAKER FOR THIS OCCASION AND TO HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO ADDRESS THE LEADERS OF OUR STATE. I ALSO FEEL THAT THIS IS AN EXCELLENT CHANCE TO THANK THE ENTIRE COMMUNITY, ALL LEVELS OF GOVERNMENT, MEMBERS OF THE PRESS CORPS, AND OTHER MEDIA, EQUALLY, ** FOR THE RECEPTION GIVEN MR. HUGHES AND ALL OF US WHO ARE ASSOCIATED WITH HIM SINCE OUR ARRIVAL HERE. 2. I ALSO EXPRESS MR. HUGHES' GRATITUDE, AND MY PERSONAL GRATITUDE, TO ALL THE INDIVIDUALS WHO HAVE BEEN INTRODUCED PREVIOUSLY BY OUR CHAIRMAN, LT. GOV. FIKE AND THIS DOES NOT BEGIN TO INCLUDE ALL OF THOSE TO WHOM WE ARE INDEBTED. 3. WE WHO HAVE MOVED OUR FAMILIES TO NEVADA ARE PROUD TO BE PARTICIPATING IN CIVIC AND COMMUNITY AFFAIRS. WE ONLY HOPE THAT YOUR FEELINGS OF WELCOME CARRY A SMALL FRACTION OF THE INTENSITY OF OUR APPRECIATION FOR THE WAY WE HAVE BEEN RECEIVED AND MADE TO FEEL AT HOME. 4.
