ZORNE, Vice President and General Manager, (center), presented outstanding service awards to STELLA LUCERO, 10 years, Food Department, and to ROBERT L. MILLER, 25 years, Casino Manager. Not present at the ceremony was AUGUSTIN BARRON, 1 years, Food Department. Sands Employee Honored ?╟÷ SOL KLEINMAN (center), an electrician supervisor at the Sands Hotel, is shown being congratulated on his 25 years of service to the hotel by Sands President RICHARD G. DANNER (left) and Chief Engineer HAROLD KIDDER. Kleinman began his employment at the Sands shortly after the hotel opened in 1952. Lady Luck Employees of the Month KING 8 AWARDS - King 8 Hotel-Casino has named Sandra Crawford, slot changeperson, and Connie Klawes, 21 dealer, as April employes of the month. TwUa Marler, housekeeper, was named "special courtesy employe of the month." The three were commended for their outstanding professional conduct and customer courtesy, and each was awarded a $25 cash bonus Lady Luck Employees of the Month of April are DAVID GINSBURG and CLETUS LICHTE, shown here receiving checks from Maxine Brewer, key person. David, ya change person, is from Dawson's Creek, B.C. Before joining the Lady Luck in November 1976, David worked as a concession manager for several well-known carnival companies. Cletus, a Training Instructor, has worked at the Lady Luck since July 1976. He's from Lexington, Mo, where he helped his father manage a 4 hundred-acre farm. ?√ßFlamingo Employee of Month In special ceremonies held recently at the Landmark Hotel, employees were presented with pins for their years of service. PERRY LIEBER, then general manager of the Landmark, presented a 10-year pin to MICHAEL ROBERTS, casino floor supervisor, (left). Other employees who received pins but are not pictured were SHIRLEY FULLER, 21 dealer; JAMES PARSICK, head slot mechanic, and CONNIE ENRIQUEZ, guest room attendant, 5-year pins; and RITA HARLOW, cocktail waitress and JESSE HATTEN, JR., 21 dealer, 10-year pins. Casino POST hopes the new owner of the Landmark will continue the practice of awarding service pins. ,^ JAMES THOMAS (center), Flamingo Hilton security guard, was named Employee of the Month in an announcement made by the hotel's Managing Director, HORST DZIURA. Also on hand for the presentation were JOAN KUZIK, Personnel Director, and ART ROUSHKOLB, Chief of Security. James has been employed at the hotel for four and one-half years. The Eureka, California native has been a resident of Las Vegas for the past seven years. Previous to coming to Las Vegas, Mr. Thomas retired from active duty in the Air Force. In making the announcement Mr. Dziura stated, "I am glad to have one of our security men win the Courtesy Award." Mr. Thomas said, "I was extremely pleased and surprised when I was informed that I had been selected by my fellow workers." James and his wife, Yoshiko, have three children. Robert, 17, James Jr., 13, and John, 11. Yoshiko works at the Holiday Inn. As the winner of the monthly award James will receive a savings bond, dinner for two at the Flamingo Hilton gourmet room, a color photograph of himself, and a plaque with a congratulatory message from Barron Hilton, President of Hilton Hotel Corporation.
