Bridge, who grew up in Lodi, is an outstanding golfer who has won countless amateur tournaments over the past 40 years. Bridge made the U. S. Open as an amateur in 1955, was invited by the late Bing Crosby to play in many Pebble Beach tournaments, and in 1972 was runner up in the Nevada State Amateur Championship.
