FREEMAN COMPANY pub/ic/sts PLANNING 1/23 Jack ?╟÷----- Ideas for CopaGirl Lines: 1. LOOK Magazine has picked 12 hidden beauties in Hollywood, and they will be seen on the Dean Martin TV show Feb 1. Sinatra and Thomas will also be on that show. Would recommend that if we could offer them a six-week contract at the Sands, right on the show, we would get solid plug, as well as perhaps a good line in the future. Suggest Sinatra could do the offering, as though it were spontaneous idea. I have spoken with friends at LOOK about it; they like the idea, but point out that some of the girls will be working on pictures, several do not want to perform. But the offer will still be a good stunt, even if we don?╟╓t get them. If we do,then it would be all the better. They are all beautiful. 2. EARL WILSON is picking out WILSON girls in his column, having beauties send in pictures and short bios on themselves. This was an idea I gave him several years ago, suggesting that perhaps we could put in a line of the WILSON GIRL as CopaGirls. I spoke to him the other day, and he liked the idea very much. I understand Proser tried to butt in and offer to take one or more of the girls Wilson picks. It might be good idea for you to offer Wilson girls a six week contract for a future show ?╟÷ would be good publicity and perhaps bring in a good line. Wilson could select 100 semi-finalists, you could pick 10 winners on a New York trip. 3. EUROPEAN CopaGirl idea still in works ?╟÷ MGM working with Quantas Airlines to see how far they will go on transporation of 10 girls from 10 European countries to the United States. Frank Sherlock is working with me on this. General idea is to tie in with a picture such as ?╟ÑLes Girls?╟Ñ or ?╟ÑGigi?╟Ñ with Maurice Chevalier, run competitions in the countries to select 50 semi-finalists in each country, then have you make a tour to pick out 1 from each country. Idea is to offer $100 to $150 a week for 12 week contract ?╟÷ this is a huge sum to any European girl and I believe you would get the most beautiful girls for the CopaGirl line you have ever had, if we could work out the expense details. 4. COLUMNISTS in key cities could run competition in much the same manner as Texas, and you could select girls from among groups of semi-finalists all over the country.
