Dear Als Here is a brief outline of the tie-in promotion we spoke of the other days THE CLIENT: Mitten's Display Letters, New York and California They manufacture those large wall directories for Super Markets, as well as the best lettering for air line terminals, offices and the better shops. ; H THE EVENT s National Association of Food Chains Convention, Washington D.C. Oct. 20-23 More than 1000 Food Chain owners usually attend v THE PRIZE : "WEEK AT THE SANDS HOTEL" ?╟÷actually Monday through Friday. PUBLICITY FOR SANDS HOTEL: A. More than 1000 invitations will be sent out by client to delegates Invitation will make special mention of "Week at the Sands" with original art work done by client. B. Delegates will be presented upon arrival with convention card and number which they will carry in lapel pocket. Card will again feature "Week at the Sands" with original art work. C. Winner of prize will be expected to identify member of convention with identical convention number on his lapel card. There will be only two duplicate numbers. This means that members will be constantly asking the other fellow what his number is and taking card (with Sands art work) out of other fellow's pocket to identify it. D. Model will present cards to delegates upon arrival. If you wish to supply Sands costume (skirt and blouse now being worn by your waitresses in the Casino) we'll send sizes, and other measurements. E. Client has two booths for its own exhibit. Fair-sized Sands Hotel Display would be featured prominently in booth. F. I will hand-place cheese-cake picture of model presenting 1st Convention card to President of the Association for publication in Washington Post anri Star Times on opening day. United Air Lines is very interested in a tie-in with you in this promotion. I.haven't reached Gordon Gilmore of TWA on this as yet, but will do so early next week. Whichever Line goes along, the promotion value is doubled: e.g. two models, one a hostess, two displays or a double display, double art work on invitations and cards, etc.
