I agree.RE: Malibu Yacht Club Several weeks ago, Joe Buck from the Las Vegas News Bureau and I were discussing possible promotions and he mentioned that he belonged to the above yacht club. We kicked around the idea of having the group's final event of the year in Las Vegas and Buck said he would sound the members. He did, and they are very interested, in fact they have asked for confirmation on rooms, rates, etc., for the weekend of Oct. 16-17. This year's group will probably be small. Not more than eight or nine rooms. But included are some pretty good people including actor Gardner MacKay (sp), a doctor, two attorneys, a cosmetic company executive and several airline pilots. In short, this is a good spending group which obviously likes to have fun. Buck and I discussed what might happen if we were to push some fast publicity. Joe said he thought if the hotel showed considerable interest, the room total could be expected to go up. For publicity, we thought of putting Joe's sailboat in the pool, and doing some cheesecake, or doing something of this nature. Also, the Sands might put up a trophy since the club would run an actual race on Sunday, Oct. 17. What do you think? ron
