Inter-Department Correspondence To: ME JACK ENTRATTER Date. 7/19/63 From: AL FREEMAN Subject: 1964 NATIONAL PRESS PHOTOGRAPHERS CONVENTION AT SAHARA HOTEL The National Press Photographers Convention for 1964 will be held at the Sahara Hotel as determined at their recent 1963 Convention held in Jackson, Wyoming. As you know, we have been working with this press group since 1953 and each year we award a weekend to the Queen and some officials of the Association. Our relations with this Association have been excellent, we have received quite a few good reservations through their reference, and I believe that this has been a worthwhile promotion for the very little cost we have incurred. However, I suddenly found out that the Association will hold its 1964 Convention at the Sahara. Mr. Sig Front, Sahara Sales Convention Manager, and Mr. Clyde Anderson of the Nevada Centennial, appeared before this group in Jackson, Wyoming, last month and made a pitch for the Association to have the Convention in Las Vegas. Since I found out I contacted Joe Costa, Chairman of the Board, who is a very good friend of yours and mine and the attached correspondence explains the situation. In all fairness, the Sahara has been having the Californian Press Photographers Association Convention of about 50 photographers KAYCO FORM 1G13K ?╟? continued . .
