?ú⌠ National msmmwm ASSOCIATION, inc May 2, 1957 Mr. A1 Freeman 9508 Wilshire Boulevard Beverly Hills, California Dear Al, I was extremely happy to receive your very nice note regarding our national queen, Carole Michelson, that accom- panied the pictures you sent me. Incidentally, congratulations to your photographer! The picture of Carole in the bathing suit is definitely one of the best and most flattering of Carole that I've seen to date. Needless to say, we are extremely happy over your "permanent" invitation to us regarding our annual queen. I can tell you that since you were the first to extend such an invitation, it will be policy with us, at least insofar as I per- sonally amconcerned, to give your invitation first consideration. Naturally each year it will depend on our ability to promote trans- portation for the girl. This year we were fortunate in having the cooperation of Gordon Gilmore and Ed Boughton of TWA. I tried to reach Jack Entratter at his hotel but unfortu- nately I missed him each time I called, and finally I was told he had checked out. In the event that you would like to consider the idea of offering our contestants a job at the Sands, df building a show around them, etc. I think we ought to discuss the whole matter now in order that it can be incorporated into the prospectus for the '58 Pageant. This will give the NPPA Pageant additional incentive and at the same time should result in added publicity for the Sands since it will be mentioned during all of the activity and promotion which attends the local selections throughout the c ountry. ?╟≤ President ARTHUR L.
