I agree.ENTERTAINMENT Page 4 But one should remember that the top entertainment in Las Vegas is not necessarily in the big showrooms. To keep the fun going, all the hotels have theatre-lounges which provide a continuous stream of top name stars from dusk till dawn. These stars who get top billing in their own right are, you might say, in competition with the entertainer in the main showroom for the audiences' attention. They range from the vocal stylings of the golden-throated Delia Reese to the big bands of Harry James and the Glenn Miller Orchestra with Tex Beneke. Just a few of the others might be Ray Anthony, Don Rickles, the Kim Sisters, Sarah Vaughan or Shecky Greene. Downtown Las Vegas, a glittering three block neon kaleidoscope sometimes called "the Times Square of the West" but more generally known as "Casino Center," achieves a wall-to-wall entertainment effect. Here, in more than a dozen clubs, including two high-rise hotels, shows are not only continuous, but feature fast-paced musical combos, mod singing groups and stage acts that go on ad infinitum. This only adds to the conclusion that Las Vegas entertainment is anything but stereotyped. In fact, competition is so keen among hotel and club producers, that few of them can say a month or two ahead of time who will be appearing on their stages. While one will hold an extravaganza for a year or more, another showcases a stream of top stars, each in for a four to eight-week stint.
