He obviously hadn?╟╓t heard of Engelbert Humperdinck! But then3 how could he have3Engelbert is essentially a product of the Twentieth Century3with voice to match! ENGELBERT HUMPERDINCK was born May 1940 in India where he spent his first six years. His parents then decided to return to England3making a home for themselves and their ten children, in Leicester. It soon became evident that ENGELBERT was to be the musical member of the family and throughout his childhood he sang and played a variety of On leaving school he became an apprentice engineer3 but this vocation was rather short-lived as the urge to make music his life3 proved too strong. Armed with little money3 which he won in a talent show3 Engelbert set off for London to begin a showbusiness career in earnest. Unfortunately3 things did not pan out quite as he had hoped - the going was tough3 the streets weren?╟╓t ?╟╓paved with gold' and without that all-important hit record3 Engelbert found himself3 over the years3beginning to lose heart. Then came a change of luck. Engelbert sang a song he had written, to hie friend Gordon Tom Jones' manager.
