    NEWS FROM FREEDOMS FOUNDATION AT VALLEY FORGE INFORMATION FOR NEWS MEDIA For Immediate Release VALLEY FORGE, PENNSYLVANIA 19481 AREA CODE 215 933-8825 CONTACT LOU GRECO Vice President?╟÷I information RONNIE HERRICK Coordinator Radio?╟÷TV MONUMENT TO NEVADA HEROE VALLEY FORGE, PA...On Memorial Day, May 30, at Freedoms Foundation at Valley Forge, Pa., a monument and the Nevada section in the Foundation?╟╓s Congressional Medal of Honor Grove were dedicated in tribute to LCDR Bruce Avery Van Voorhis, Nevada's lone winner of the Medal of Honor, the nation?╟╓s highest military decoration. Representing Governor Paul Laxalt at the Valley Forge ceremonies was Brig. Gen. Charles Baron\ of Las Vegas. From left to right are Col. Henry G. Thomas, assistant dean of education, Freedoms Foundation; Thomas J, Kelly, Esq. of New York, N.Y., president of the Congressional Medal of Honor Society; Brig. Gen. Baron and General Bruce C. Clarke, USA (Ret.) former Commander- in-Chief of the U.S. Army in Europe, California, Ohio and Mississippi State areas were also dedicated*, Each state area has a 7-foot Honor Shaft with Medal of Honor winners?╟╓ names engraved on the sides, the official state seal, and a 30-foot steel pole with a state flag. Also, living trees will be marked in perpetuity with Medal of Honor names on individual stainless steel markers. The Grove, about 50 acres, one for each state, has been estab^-: lished to memorialize America's more than 3000 Medal of Honor recipients.
