FREEMAN COMPANY pub//c/sts PLANNING 2/16 Jack----- On NBC-TV TONIGHT Show: The Las Vegas segments, on Thursdays are broken up into 3 different spots, roughly about 8:38 PM, 9:05 PM, and 9:25 PM, each segment lasting about 9 minutes. NBC doesn?╟╓t especially like to go past 9:30 on the Vegas show because it loses Los Angeles at that time. The show so far is a potpouri of interviews, brief musical interludes showing an act such as the Novelites playing in front of people gathered near the commentator?╟╓s mike table, and such other gimmicks as the hotel can prepare. The El Rancho, for instance, based most of its show on Love and Valentine?╟╓s Day, with an actual wedding taking place, an interview with Lily St. Cyr which was silent on her part because of laryngititis, and then a number by the Novelites. Based on what we have seen so far -?╟÷ with the limit of $800 on talent set by NBC, with a single act getting $250 for even 1 number, the following are different ideas on how to make the Sands seegment as different and as effective as possible, if NBC goes along on physical movement ideas of cameras, etc. Only 2 cameras are used. Setup day is usually Wednesday about noon, with director Bill Bennington and producer Herb Braverman coming in on Thursdayafternoon expecting To findHthe?╟ÑsHow laid out. George Slatter comes up as needed ahead of time to work oh details. Ideas.. 9508 WILSHIRE BLVD. ?╟≤ BEVERLY HILLS, CAL. ?╟≤ BRADSHAW 2-8611
