I agree.WESTERN UNION BUILDING f J f LAS VEGAS, NEVADA ROLAND H. WILEY ATTORNEY AT LAW * I /? / Febr. 16, 1955 Mr. A1 Freeman, Publicity Director, Sands Hotel, Las Vegas, Nevada. Dear Mr. Freemans This Season (Oct. 1 to Feb. 1) about 600 to 800 out-of-state Sportsmen will come to Las Vegas for fun and pheasant hunting. These men are all sportsmen; many are good spenders, and practic- ally all stay a day or two in Las Vegas, combining some glamour and gambling with their pheasant hunting trip. They represent a desired class of hotel and casino patrons, and come during the four usually slow months. The value of pheasant hunting at Hidden Hills Ranch to the resort hotel business of Las Vegas has been clearly demonstrated during the past two years. This Ranch, because of its widespread publicity, is the best known and certainly the most popular pheasant hunting ranch in the West. Every hunter gets his limit in the wild picturesque natural and cultivated cover. Many hunters from out of State return a number of times with additional friends during the 4- month season. Few persons realize it, but there are over 40,000 pheasant hunters in Southern California alone; that many purchase "pheasant tags" each year, yet their hunting facilities are very limited, practically non- existent, and this point is made clear ty the metropolitan sports writers each year. Much free and favorable publicity will result to the hotel that sponsors "pheasant 'hunting", and because of the hundreds of hunters attracted to that hotel, it will certainly mean much to the hotel*s economy. I would like an opportunity to meet with you and discuss the matter personally. RHW/t-
