Abstract
The Raymond Germain Photograph Collection (approximately 1960-1970) consists of two black-and-white photographic prints of Raymond Germain and one black-and-white photographic print of his wife, Mary Germain. All of the photographs have corresponding negatives.

Biographical / Historical Note
Raymond Germain was born on October 7, 1907 in Waterville, Washington. Germain graduated in 1930 from the University of Nevada, Reno and in 1933 became editor of the Tonopah Times-Bonanza in Tonopah, Nevada. In 1945, he became editor of the Las Vegas Review-Journal and later helped establish Bonanza Printer, a local publisher in Las Vegas, Nevada. During the 1950s, Germain served as vice president of the Las Vegas Sun as well as a member of the Nevada Board of Regents when they voted to open Nevada Southern University, later renamed the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. In 1961, he was appointed regional director of the United States Post Office in San Francisco, California. Germain died on December 2, 1976.
