There is a definite shortage of dancing showgirls and eventually this wlU peril major night club shows unless ways j . are found to plug this vital production gap. _ Donn Arden, who for more than 30 years has created, staged , and directed the world?╟╓s top night club and theatre shows Issued , this note of warning. He currently has three big shows | ?√ß In clubs-?╟úPzpzzl ?╟╓68?╟Ñ at the Desert Bin, the "Lido de Paris?╟Ñ at j the Stardust and the famed Lido Show in Paris. I One of the main reasons is that other crafts have Increased I the minimum pay and dancing showgirls are still receiving a j minimum of $193.00 a week. Girls are just not turning to the dance routine as they did 10 or 15 years ago. There is very I little incentive for young girls to become dancers. Only one . I solution remains and that is for producers and club owners I to pay more money. When Arden auditioned his last Desert ?√ß I Bin show, he ended up using about 80 per cent of those girls ?√ß I who?╟╓ve danced professionally for years-new faces are needed, ?╟≤ I but hard to find. .
