I agree.12/10/62 For release upon receipt: ENTRATTER MARKS SANDS TENTH ANNI WITH SPECIAL DANNY THOMAS SHOWS Las Vegas, Nevada (Dec 10).......The busiest producer in television today, Danny Thomas, will interrupt his supervision of five top network video series to become a nightclub comedy star again for 10 days at the Sands Hotel here in its Tenth Anniversary celebration this weekend. Sands producer Jack Entratter is presenting Danny for the tenth consecutive Anniversary celebration, dating back to 1952 when Thomas became the Sands first star as he opened the first of the Entratter shows which have zoomed the Sands into the top star showcase in the world* Thomas will open his engagement Wednesday (Dec 12) and officially mark the Sands Tenth year at a special dinner on Saturday (Dec 15) to be attended by three hundred special Sands guests and celebrities from Hollywood and New York. Danny will be appearing at the Sands for his 17th engagement in 10 years, and will be starting his 40,320th minute of Copa stage performances at the Saturday night dinner show. At that time, the Sands will be marking its 10th year of continuous operation - 87,600 hours of non-stop action - 5,256,000 minutes of uninterrupted service. Probably the most heavily trafficked resort hotel in the world, the Sands has seen 21,400,000 people passing thrus or using any of its facilities, with an average of 5615 visiters a day. Lightest traffic in any one day since the Sands opened was 715 guests or spectators on a snowy day at Easter about 7 years ago. Heaviest traffic count was 32,000 people passing thru on a Tuesday during the famous "Summit" Copa show in January of 1961. - 1 -
