I agree.Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Pictures, Ltd. London AIR MAIL C 0 RAL/KM 18th April, 1957- Mr. Arthur Pincus, NEW YORK. Dear Arthur, WEEKEND IN LAS VEGAS - Hotel Promotion. Herewith a report on the Grand Finals of the "Miss Las Vegas" Contest. We had fourteen finalists from all over the United Kingdom (and as pretty a bunch as I've ever seen), who had been selected from over 7,000 entries. The winner was Miss Virginia Page of Brighton, aged 19, a student of the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art, and younger sister of British film actress Jill Day. We had a very fine Press turnout for the finals, the judges being Miss Yolande Donlan, star of TARZAN AND THE LOST SAFARI. Glen Cradden, head of T.W.A. in Europe, and Bob Ottaway, Editor of "Picturegoer". As you will have seen from my letter of even date to Bob Vogel, Miss Page is now at a vital stage of her studies at the Academy and will not be able to take her holiday until the first week in June. However, I think you will be the first to agree that the girlfs career must come first. I attach for your interest a complete set of photographs of the finals, together with tear sheets and cuttings which resulted. As for the national Press, we made the Daily Mirror, Daily Mail, Daily Sketch and Sunday Empire News. Best wishes. Yours sincerely, R.A.Lee c.c. Charles Goldsmith C. A. Maitland D. Blum, N.Y.
