I agree.f:r,o:m: s^/llY^ RECORDS WEST West is comprised of no less than four and no more than six members... Ron Cornelius, Joe Davis, Mike Stewart, Lloyd Perata--Bob Claire and Jon Sagen. When the six first met, they were all involved in and with other groups, none of which seemed destined to "get it together." After several months of everyone suggesting what everyone else should do, they left the other groups and started out on some serious rehearsing together. After eight months together the group felt it was time to come out; the music felt the way they all wanted it to. About the same time they took the name. "West" doesn't stand for any thing, any place or any time; it just felt good and comfortable like the music. Those eight months getting it together were spent in Crockett, California, an old sugar-milling town about forty miles north of San Francisco. The group had taken over the town's only theater as their rehearsal hall, club house and hide out (no one noticed them for quite a while since the theater had't shown a movie in ten years). "It was here," according to Jon Sagen, "that we really were able to get ourselves and our music together.
