Small world dept.: On the Queen Elizabeth 2 film musicals in which I had danced were shown . . . This is an important month in Hollywood, since all the big TV specs and regular shows are lining up talent for the coming season. When the casting is over, there will be only about 25 dancers with steady employment in TV. The rest will free-lance in movies, various TV shows, and there will always be dance traffic between Hollywood and Las Vegas. Hermes Pan choreographs the big Fred Astaire, TV spec to be seen in Oct. and he has cast Paul Reese, Jerry Stabler, Jimmie Huntley, Roy Fitzell, Frank Radcliff, Bert May, Rod Beiber, Larri Thomas, Darlene Engle, Mary Thomas, Joyce Horn and Terry Lawrence. They will have the longest TV rehearsal schedule to date. Nick Castle, assisted by Maurice Kelly and Carmen Clifford, stages the Oct. Ginger Rogers TV spec. La Rogers is in tiptop shape . . '. Jonathan Lucas has staged the new Marilyn Maxwell act, currently at the, Moulin Rouge. Donn^Arden, assisted by Larry Maldonado, is rehearsing the new Moulin show . . . Hal Belfer, with Gretchen Hauser assisting, goes into rehearsal this month on an untitled Columbia musical . . . Wally Green is in the midst of rehearsals on the Sam Goldwyn lot for "Some Like it Hot," the new Marilyn Monroe pic. He stages production no's, using Virginia Lee, Dean Miles, Joyce Horn, Lisa Long, Gale Gleason and Joan Kelly. Jack Cole will take care of Miss Monroe's highly stylized no's . . . Eugene Loring has completed "Innocents Forbidden," using dancers Bruce Hoy, Carl Rat- cliffe, Jerry Gotham, Paul Gleason, Bea Busch, Sally Whelan, Lisa Boughers, Patti Trebble, Charlene Baker and Dolores Star (who doubled for Susan Strasberg) . . . Stephen Papich after completing his Hollywood Bowl season, went on to San Diego to stage a large civic event . . . Alex Romero stages the forthcoming Eddie Fisher TV shows. Sasha Goudovich will choreographer the George Gobel TV shows, and his wife, Carmen Clifford, has been staging several Gale Storm video programs . . . Patricia Barker and A. Frank Reynolds were wed Sept. 6 . . . Ray Arnett has added a "Gigi" dance medley to the Liberace act, now at the Cocoanut Grove . . . Roy Fitzell is opening a new dance school in Torrance . . . Barrie Chase has completed her song- dance part in the new Fox film, "Mardi Gras/' and the choreographer, Bill Foster, is off to vacation in Hawaii. It was another girl for the Fosters last month. Bill returns soon to NYC to resume his chores ^/on the Pat Boone show . . . Jerry Rush and "Tim Rush have joined the Lisa Kirk act, now at NYC's,Plaza. Hotel . . . Jack Mattis and James Elsegood will be featured in the new Ina Ray Hutton act. Valentino Oumansky will choreograph "Extra Special Day," a new book musical /{Continued from Page 95) which opens in Nov. at the Civic Playhouse ... Louise Glenn, Haldor de Becker, Linda de Valero and Keith Nelson featured in Sawdust Playhouse version of "Plain and Fancy" . . . Brownee Brown has done a very good job with the Santa Monica Theatre Guild's "On the Town." Dancers Ronnie Dean, Charlene Chase, Elliot Murphy, Tiiu Parli Harunk, Jane Metzner, Caprice Workman, Jim Caciola, Ron Patterson, Joan Edwards and Veronica Judge looked fine. LMA??9.l?╜Ex.mi?╜.r Ttos,Ort.9,l"8 Elephants, Chimps in Moulin Rouge Show Frank Serines made ar-j rangements for elephants, chimpanzees, horses and doves to provide lively authenticity for the African, Western and blues numbers in his newest musical extravanganza, "Wonderful World!" premiering this evening at the Moulin Rouge in Hollywood. The lavish production staged and directed by Doni Arden, features a cast of 10 with lovely singing star Ann Maria Alberghetti as heac liner. The Moulin Rouge cor Itinues its policy of sho^ nightly except Mondays. SONGBIRD Anna Maria Alberghetti will be guest star of the new revue that opens tonight at MouJin Rouge. t
