Marie McDonald, attractively dressed in a gold gown, with a split front, shared honors with Doi^n Arden?╟╓s magnificent staging of a new show with ^Parisian theme, , ?╟ 'Paris cope,- last bight at the Moulin Rouge. Arden?╟╓s great staging, Climaxed by a holocaust, complete with smoke and flame, wop a tremendous hand frprn?╟╓ an ^preciaMve audience. His complete show, as always, is handsome and elegant, down to the last prop, Miss McDonald sang songs such as ?╟úI Could Have Danced All Night/* "What Is This Thing Called Love ? ?╟Ñ and "I Love Paris/?╟╓ which do nothing for her act. She was more effective with "The Feminine Touch/* ?╟úTenement Symphony/* acrowd-pleasirig original; ?╟úFarewell/* from the film, "Sayonara,** and ?╟úI Fkund Myself a Guy,?╟Ñ the latter a topnotch tune written for' her by Jimmy McHugh, and possibly the best in her repertoire. Her voice carries well in the spacious?╟╓ confines of the Moulin Rouge; if she trims her act by two or three songs, as noted above, she won?╟╓t wear out her welcome. An "Opera a La Carte** number, featuring Martha Errolle, a talented performer; The Trailers, Billy Wells and the Four Fays, and a unique ?╟úThe Saga of Frankie and Johnny,?╟Ñ billed as ?╟úa very sad comedy/* add variety to the lavish new show. The lyrics and music by Pony Sherrell and 'Phil Moody ,are a particularly noteworthy contribution to the overall production, and Eddie O?╟╓Neal?╟╓s Orchestra ^^^es superb musical backing.,
