I agree. In addition to learning many complicated dance routines to absolute perfection, the girls must subject themselves to lengthy costume fittings, publicity sessions, makeup classes and a variety of other duties necessary in preparing them for the years ahead. And there is never a letdown for the girls, even after the new edition of the Lido makes its debut. Girls must maintain their appearance and work with fervor twice nightly, plus a third show Saturday night. If not, there are always hundreds of other beauties to take their place. Every girl is willing to make the sacrifices necessary in order to be able to proudly say: "I am in the Lido." There is also the little matter of a salary of $246.60 per week for dancers and $296.60 for showgirls. 11 ii n n wtrmt -27-
