The Cafe Continental stage is a spectacle in itself, with its huge hydraulic elevators, a full-sized swimming pool, an ice skating rink and a myriad of other wonders never expected in any nightclub. The unbelievable stage, with the assistance of an army of adept workmen, will also take on the realistic appearance of a 14th century palace, as the Bluebell Dancers and Lido Girls cavort in some of the most lavish and expensive costumes ever included in any production. This unbelievable sight will immediately be transformed into a tournament field, complete with old English folk dances, flag bearers and clarions. A pair of magnificent horses will then approach with brilliantly costumed riders, who will engage in an actual jousting match with lances and swords. The charging horses will advance to within inches of the startled showgoers. The nightmare dream of a riot in a women's prison could easily prove to be the biggest showstopper of the mammoth production. As the beautiful showgirls battle with their guards and then attempt to escape, sirens will scream, searchlights will flash, guns will roar and helicopters will swoop low over the audience, flooding the scene with "tear gas" and machine gun fire. In the grand finale, the largest and longest staircase ever produced on a nightclub stage will be graced by the beautiful dancers and showgirls, in a magnificent tribute to the late Maurice Chevalier. -12-
