In 1946, a group headed by Joseph and Louis Clerico opened, in the heart of the Champs-Elyse'es, a luxurious establishment decorated by H. Rigal: the LIDO. The management was put into the hands of Pierre Louis-Guerin. Considerable remodeling transformed it into a glittering place of luxurious revues. The beauty of the dancers, the richness and color of their costums, the high quality of their specialty acts, the rapidity of their tempo resulted in making the LIDO become "the most celebrated cabaret in the world". The fame of the LIDO shows has spread far and wide. Recently a critic wrote: "Both Foreigners and the French, when coming to Paris, first visit the Eiffel Tower and the LIDO." CHRISTIAN CLERICO Pr6sident-Directeur G6n6ral Directeur PIERRE LISSILLOUR Since 1977, the LIDO presents its show in a new room on the Champs-Elyse'es : the cabaret restaurant NORMANDIE. This establishment created by an important international show business group SEGSMHI, conceived and beautifully decorated by the architects Peynet, Bartoccini and Veccia, is the largest and also the most luxurious night club in Europe, if not in the world. Management is handled by VAL s.a. As the show starts, the dining floor descends with the spectators, the dance floor becoming an elevated stage. The NORMANDIE possesses a network of movable platforms, ice floor, swimming pool, elevators, comparable to nowhere. Thanks to its gigantic machinery the LIDO revue becomes a show in fabulous technicolor cinemascope.
