December 26, 1978 My dear Donn, I hope you are by now benefitting from a much-needed rest. This letter is not intended to disturb you, but it is necessary that I bring some matters which are very disturbing to me to your attention. Mow that vou have resolved vour staff and my function is that of co-Choreographer it would appear to me that my contract should be re-negotiated. Rich Rizzo and Scott Salmon were originally assigned as principal choreographers, at much higher salaries than that arranged for me. Since I will now be performing the duties of Choreographer, together with Tom Hansen, it seems reasonable to assume that I should receive similar monies. In addition to my choreographic duties it has always been my responsibility to help acquaint new members of your staff with our methods and techniques. In addition I have served as your personal assistant in all areas of your productions. I have acted and am presently acting as production coordinator, with all the varied responsibilities that entails. But rather than receiving equal or additional monies for my years of experience with you and my multiple functions, I am instead receiving less -- in the case of Tom Hansen, not much more than half as much. Donn, this is simply not reasonable, and not fair. It appears to me that this is one instance where longstanding friendship and service, as well as total loyalty, diminishes one's value rather than enhancing it. I do not wish to make this letter needlessly wordy. What I am saying and asking should be clear. I am asking that in all fairness my salary as of January 30th should match Tom's and be increased to $1,500 for the duration of my tenure with the show. Please consider what I have said and let me have your response. Tom, Currie and I have gotten a great deal accomplished this week and I have introduced them to our way of working. Look forward to seeing you when you get to Reno, Drive carefully I Yours with love and friendship,
