I agree.1-7-37 (Rev. 3/25/82) (ADAM makes up his mind. As head of the family, he must maintain his position. HE gets to his feet and yawns:) ADAM Yeah, well, come to think of it, I am a mite sleepy. (ADAM slowly knocks out his pipe and starts up the stairs. CALEB plays "HERE COMES THE BRIDE" on his harmonica as ADAM passes. ADAM gives him a dirty look, then continues up the stairs. At the closed door, ADAM hesitates, conscious of the watching eyes. Then he raises his hand and tentatively knocks on the door.) Who is it? MILLY ADAM (softly) It's me, Adam (firmly) your husband. (There is a moment's silence, then) Come in Adam. MILLY (ADAM sighs with relief, then turns, beaming to his watching brothers) ADAM (Expansively) Goodnight boys. THE SIX BROTHERS (playfully; together) 'night Adam. etc. etc. (As ADAM enters,the lights come up full in bedroom and dim lower in the living room belcw.After an uncomfortable silence:) ADAM I ?╟÷ uh ?╟÷ thought you'd be in bed.
