5/5/82 Page 2. WONDERFUL DAY -make the lyrics consistent so all the girls oppose Milly getting married -add other voices offstage to boost the girls' soun?· (e.g. Cheryl and Mary Catherine) -new part of song has to be orchestrated CABIN -the introductions are slow ?╟÷ it needs faster pacing including caleb ' s "Your wife " I MARRIED SEVEN BROTHERS -add a musical interlude before Milly thinks up her plan ?╟÷ it let's the audience and her digest the problem she is considering -consider adding an extra verse -the song should end downstairs ?╟÷ perhaps follow her upstairs with a light and fade out on her there -consider something feisty for Milly to do in reaction to the horror of the way the brothers get to the table UPSTAIRS -Adam and Milly to speak up -clarify the dialogue concerning the window ?╟÷ look for and retain the "ping pong" effect between the two of them MORNING -eliminate "don't be too hard on my brothers" -find another line for Adam and Milly exit -- preferably giving Adam a set up and Milly a joke line * -trim section concerning "underwear you're sleepin1 in" (*perhaps relates back to Milly being in the restaurant and unable to stop the physical attacks) SCENE PRE "GOIN'COURTIN' trim the scene pre the song* when the brothers tell Milly they are outlawed from town, consider saying "us Pontipees" have been... GOIN' COURTIN' -keep her from standing on the table -look for more humour like when Gideon extends his arm at her request -try to be less balletic - examine Milly's reentry SOCIAL -overlap the country dance with the entry of the brothers -tighten the scene - make minor changes in dance (e.g. more diagonals; keep people' away from upstage to keep some steps in the clear) -at the end of the fight; put Milly in a special - and clear the people in the front so we can focus on Milly
