Now, fashion always reflecting the attitudes of the times decided that the body should no longer be imprisoned by a confining corsette & layers of clothing. So in the name of equality wastlines were relaxed, hemlines went up, & hair was bobbed.. .breaking out of her cocoon like a shimmering butterfly., the new woman was born! Flappers like these personified the roaring 20?╟╓s. But these changing times also produced another type of woman. They were predatory & mysterious. They were known as ....Vamps! Wasn?╟╓t that beautiful?!! That number featured our wonderful adagio team_________ Now we?╟╓ve seen the corseted ladies from the 1900?╟╓s, those flappers & vamps of the 1920?╟╓s, & the glamour queens from the 1930?╟╓s Hollywood musicals. But in the next decade world events had a profound effect on the female gender. As the men joined the armed services, the little homemakers left their kitchens to take over factory jobs. On the music scene there was an invasion of infectious Latin rhythms which added to the growing popularity of the 1940?╟╓s Big Band sound.
