This is because our programs benefit all undergraduate students (i.e.UNLV/CSUN preschool) not just those who are taking seven credits or more. Precedence for this is shown at UNR ASUN who's constitution stipulates the same as this amendment would. We the Consolidated Students of the University of Nevada, represented in the CSUN Senate do enact as follows: All matriculated undergraduate students of UNLV, upon payment of registration fees, shall be members of CSUN until the beginning of the following semester. A CSUN fee, approved by the Board of Regents, not less than five per cent of the per credit fee, shall be collected for each undergraduate student of UNLV taking one credit [seven credits] or more. 7 Senate Bill No. 2 of the 36t h Session Attachment 36.06.02 Introduced By: Senator Fred Johns Summary: This Bylaw is designed to increase the accountability of officers in the CSUN Student Government, outline those who can use the Senate Chambers MSU 302, and set procedures for allowing Senate Guests to use Senate Chambers 302. We the Consolidated Student of the University of Nevada, represented in the CSUN Senate do enact as follows: BYLAW XX SENATE CHAMBERS I. Purpose A. To clarify the uses of the Senate Chambers MSU 302; B. To clarify questions of privilege; C. To set procedures for the uses of the Senate Chambers MSU 302. II. Definition A. The Senate Chambers may only be used by the Senators, Employees of the CSUN Student Government, Executive Board, Judicial Council, Directors, President's Advisory Council, Board Members, and Checked in Guests of Senators; listed in the order of primacy. B. Only the Guests of Senators may use the Senate Chambers MSU 302: 1. When checked in at the front desk, the log shall have: a. A signature of the Senator the guest came with; b. The business of the guest; c. The guest must have an official purpose for being there other than 'hanging out' or similar reasons. 2. The Senator that checked in with the guest must escort the guest out of the chambers when that Senator leaves and have them sign out at the front desk. C. The Guests may use the computers but may not print. Those able to print in MSU 302 are the Senators, Executive Board, Judicial Council, Directors, President's Advisory Council, Board Members, and Employees of the CSUN Student Government. 8 III. Consequences A. Questions of privilege should first be checked at the front desk to see if the person is a registered guest: 1. If the person in question is not registered, the guest needs to find the Senator who escorted them and sign in 2. If the person in question is not escorted by a Senator, they shall be asked to leave; 3. If the person in question refuses to leave, UNLV Police shall be called to escort the person out of the chambers. B. If the guest is in the chambers without the Senator in the CSUN Student Government offices of the same locale, that Senator shall be brought up to the Rules and Ethics Committee on Ethics Infractions. "72 This Bylaw shall become effective immediately-after the passage of this bylaw by a two-thirds (2/3's) majority of the Senate. 9 Senate Bill No 12 Of the 36t h Session Proposed Bylaw (XX, LDSSA Liaison) Attachment 36.06.03 Introduced By: Senator Johns and Senator Jimenez. Summary: To create a liaison position that will act as a representative of the Latter Day Saints Student Association (LDSSA) to the CSUN Student Government. Creating this position will offer the prominent school-wide club a liaison position in efforts to establish a growing relationship with the CSUN Student Government. We the Consolidated Students of the University of Nevada, represented in the CSUN Senate, do enact as follows: Senate Bylaw XX LATTER DAY SAINTS STUDENT ASSOCIATION (LDSSA) LIASION I. Purpose A. A liaison position that will act as a representative of the Latter Day Saints Student Association (herein referred to as LDSSA) to the CSUN Student Government. B. To report to the CSUN Student Government the activities and goals of the LDSSA. II. Requirements A. As a CSUN Member, the representative shall be required to maintain: 1. 2.5 (on a 4.0 scale) per semester GPA. 2. Completion of twelve (12) credits per semester. 3. Adherence to the CSUN Code of Conduct B. Be a member of the LDSSA. III. Duties, Powers, and Responsibilities A. The Representative shall be entitle to speak and participate in Senate, Executive Board, Judicial Council, and all other meetings of CSUN entities as allowed by the respective presiding officer. The representative shall be able to submit on behalf of the LDSSA, through a senator, items to be placed on the Senate Agenda. 10 Senate Bill No 13 Of the 36t h Session Proposed Bylaw (XX, AFROTC Liaison) Attachment 36.06.03 Introduced By: Senators Moses and Johns on behalf of Victor Villa. Summary: To create a liaison position that will act as a representative of the cadets of the 4t h Detachment to CSUN Student Government. As this is the first year of the Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps, the cadets of the 4t h AFROTC detachment wish to create a liaison position in efforts to establish a growing relationship with the CSUN Student Government. We the Consolidated Students of the University of Nevada, represented in the CSUN Senate, do enact as follows: Senate Bylaw XX AFROTC LIASION IV. Purpose A. A liaison position that will act as a representative of the cadets of the 4t h Detachment to the CSUN Student Government. B. To report to the CSUN Student Government the activities and goals of AFROTC. V. Requirements A. As a CSUN Member, the representative shall be required to maintain: 1. 2.5 (on a 4.0 scale) per semester GPA. 2. Completion of twelve (12) credits per semester. 3. We, the Consolidated Students of the University of Nevada, represented in the CSUN Senate, do enact as follows: Statute 500.06 Items submitted without attachments, if attachments are noted, will not be submitted. 19 Senate Bill No. 12 Of the 36t h Session Attachment 36.06.13 Introduced by: President Goatz on behalf of Vice President Pro Tempore Ferrel Summary: This cleans up some of the old language used for the system as well as accounts for the proposed dates that the scholarship should be awarded to have it done in a more timely fashion. We, the Consolidated Students of the University of Nevada, represented in the CSUN Senate, do enact as follows: Senate Bylaw 39 CSUN Leadership Scholarship (Effective: March 31, 1988; Revised March 26, 2001; October 29, 2003) I. At the time of formulating each CSUN fiscal budget, one and a half percent (1.5%) of the total CSUN budget received from student fees shall be transferred to the UNLV Student Financial Services Department under the name of the CSUN Leadership Scholarships. II. The monies therein shall be awarded to students displaying leadership abilities and potential, as determined by the CSUN Scholarship Committee (See bylaw 69 CSUN Scholarship Committee). A. The Committee's first meeting for this scholarship shall be in September [March] of each year. The Committee's final decisions must be reached by April 15 [May 1] of each year; B. The Committee, through the assistance of the UNLV Student Financial Services Department, shall request, receive, and review all application for scholarships; C. The Committee shall establish denominations of awards, the number of scholarships to be awarded, and determine scholarship winners; D. Scholarships will be distributed in two (2) parts, one half (1/2) in the Fall and one half (1/2) in the Spring; E. All scholarship recipients must complete twelve (12) credits per semester while on scholarship, and maintain [with] a cumulative grade point average (G.P.A.) of 2.5 [grade point average (G.P.A.)] or higher; F. The UNLV Student Financial Services Department will distribute all CSUN Scholarships in accordance with Nevada System of Higher Education [University of Nevada System] and UNLV guidelines; 20 G. Any funds not awarded will be distributed evenly among approved award recipients. III. The Leadership Scholarship shall be awarded on following basis: A. We, the Consolidated Students of the University of Nevada, represented in the CSUN Senate, do enact as follows: Senate Bylaw 45 The Student Government Pre-Professional Scholarship (Effective: September 27, 1990; Revised: October 22, 2003) I. At the time of formulation of each CSUN fiscal budget, $10,000 from the total CSUN budget shall be transferred to the UNLV Student Financial Services Department under the name of The Student Government Pre-Professional Scholarship. The funds therein shall be awarded to students who are achieving degrees in pre-professional or occupational studies, displaying leadership abilities and potential and who are in financial need, as determined by the CSUN Scholarship Committee (See Bylaw 69 CSUN Scholarship Committee). The Committee's final decision must be reached by April 15 [May] each year; B. The funds therein shall be awarded to students who will be enrolled in student teaching during the semester/session that they are on scholarship, as determined by the CSUN Scholarship Committee (See Bylaw 69 CSUN Scholarship Committee). The committee's first meeting will be in September of each year and the committee's final decisions must be reached by April 15t h for Fall and Summer awards, and December 1 for Spring awards [The committee shall be formed during the Sping and Falls semester, with the Fall meeting determining Spring awards, and the Spring meetings determining Summer and Fall award
