Minutes: Motion by Ray Carrillo to dispense with the reading of the minutes. Seconded by Curtis Haggard Motion passed unanimously IV. Committee Reports A. Screening Committee Carl Collins reported all persons nominated at Senate Meeting were eligible to run. V. Old Business A. Election for Senators 1. freshman Class Kevyn DuMay was introduced and asked questions. 2. Math & Science Motion by Carl Collins to remove Ron Arnoldson from the table. Seconded by Rafael Lara Motion passed unanimously Ron Arnoldson was introduced and asked questions. 3. Allied Health Motion by Eugene Belin to table John Rice until he can come before the Senate. Seconded by John Goris Motion passed, 13 yes, 3 abstain The Chair requested the Senators to vote by show of hands for: Ron Arnoldson Vote: 15 yes, 1 abstain The Chair asked Senator Arnoldson to take his seat as Senator. Carl Collins requested a roll call vote be taken. Seconded by Carl Collins Motion passed, 15 yes, 2 no, 3 abstain C. Nomination for Senate Seats 1, Arts & Letters - 3 seats .No nominations at this time. 2. Business - 1 seat No nominations at this time. 3. Education - 2 seats No nominations at this time. VI. New Business A. Presidential Nominations 1. Judicial Board - Marc Hechter B. Contracts The Chair presented the contract for Harrison & Tyler, lecture for the Summer Program. 2 c. Library Ad Hoc Committee The floor was waived to Val Buhecker at which time he requested three volunteers to serve on the Library Ad Hoc Committee. Shirley Lindsey, Gale Geer and Carol Stapleton volunteered. D. University Committee The floor was waived to Val Buhecker at which time he requested the Senators to submit names of persons who would be interested in serving on the various University Committees.
