Meeting was called to order by John Moylan at 7:1*5. II. Roll was taken. III. Minutes Motion by A1 Fabbi: I move that we dispense with the reading of the minutes. Seconded by Val Buhecker. Motion passed unanimously. Motion by Kevin Beaton: I move that we adjourn for five minutes to go over the minutes of the last meeting. Seconded by Lynn Morris. Motion passed unanimously. IV. Old Business A. RECOGNITION OF SCARLETTES Motion by Val Buhecker: I move that we move the Scarlettes up to the first thing on the agenda. Seconded by Kevin Beaton. Motion passed unanimously. Anita Ward, the representative from the Scarlettes explained what the organization was and what it is going to do for the University's Athletic Depart-ment . Motion by Jerry Beggs: I move that the Scarlettes be accepted as a group on c ampus. \ Seconded by Val Buhecker. Motion passed. ELECTIONS FOR VACANT SENATE SEATS Motion by Gene DiSanza: I move that we move up the Senate elections. Seconded "by Val Buhecker. Motion passed. There was no discussion. Ballots were presented to the Senate for approval of the Senate seats. Ballots were then collected and were tallied. The results were as follows: Rod Leavitt was elected Freshman Senator. Ed Craw was elected Business Senator. Lloyd Fields, Gary Collie, Ron Johns and John Jackson were elected Arts and Letters Senators. Nick Bowler was elected Education Senator. C. CONTINUATION OF THE PRESIDENTIAL COMMITTEE APPOINT-MENTS The "ballots were presented to of the Presidential Committee Ballots were then collected, and results will be announced meeting. Motion "by A1 Fabbi: I move that we take from the table nominations for University Senate. Seconded by Gene DiSanza. Motion passed unanimously. 'V'^ The nominations for vacant^Senate seats are as follows: Tom Cook Mike Tobler Bill Gonzales Stan Wardle the Senate for approval appointment s. They will be tallied at the next Senate 2 Las Vegas. NOMINATION FOP, ALLIED HEALTH SENATE SEAT The- nomination for the Allied Health Senate Seat is follows: Dennis Panhurst B. NOMINATIONS FOR MATH AND SCIENCE SENATE SEAT The nominations for the Math and Science Senate Seat are as follows: Rick Cuellar Henry Eiler VI.
