I agree.Men001377-003

Rathskeller

Rathskeller
Translated from the German, the word literally means town hall or government cellar (restaurant).

The most common story of the start of the Rathskeller comes from Munich, Germany. In the early days before modern transportation and during the long snowy winter months the government employees brought lunch and would all get together in the cellar of the town hall to eat and drink and if time allowed sing songs and play games.

The room became so popular that eventually it was kept open at night and the employees together with the general public brought their families in to sample the sun, food, and drinks.

Since the Alpine Village Inn opened in 1950 we have seldom had a night that someone asked if they could have only a light dinner. When we moved to our present location in 1970 we decided to dig a cellar and present a basically ala-carte menu featuring a “Gemuetlichkeit” atmosphere where our customers could not only choose from a different menu but also participate in old fashioned sing-a-longs, dance contents, baloon contests, etc.

We are always open for suggestions, just tell us what you would enjoy. Please have a lot of fun and come see us often.

THE MANAGEMENT
