    Feb. 8, 1923.The regular meeting of the Goldfield Woman's Club was held Feb. 8, 1923 in the Club rooms.The meeting was called to order by the acting president Mrs. Gill. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved.The roll was called with ten members responding. The treasurer gave report.A letter was read from Mrs. Foster in which she resigned as director of the Club.A telegram was read from Mrs. Shockley in regard to the repeal of the state prohibition law. A motion was made that a telegram be sent to each of our assemblymen and our senator protesting the repeal of the law until adequate substitute be enacted. Mrs. RickettsMrs. Mills and Mrs. Hillebert being named as the committee to draft said telegram.Mrs. Jeffrey's name was read for the second time for membership to the Club. No other business being before the club the meeting was turned to Mrs. Carman who gave a very interesting and instructive talk in early explorations in American history.The meeting adjourned to meet the second Thursday in March as the Club was to give a card party on the next meeting day which would be Feb. 22.Christine HillebertSec.
