Mohawk Leasing and Development Co.ONE of the greatest leases on the famous Mohawk mine of Goldfield is that of the Mohawk Leasing & Development Company As recently as May 23 this company was incorporated. Its first allotment of treasury stock sold at 25 cents per share. Development work was commenced immediately and carried on with marvelous rapidity. The first big strike on this property was made on the 19th of July.A ledge running 100 to the ton was encountered and selected specimens showed values of $1,000 and more to the ton. Immediately this strike was made the stock was withdrawn from theThe Mohawk Leasing & Development Companymarket. Today, along with the several other rich leases on this wonderful property, the production of the Mohawk Leasing & Development Company is the talk of the country. Eefore the expiration of the lease, it is estimated that no less than $1,000,000 will have been taken out of the ground. Tts executive board and officers is comprised of the following well-known Goldfield men: President, H. T. Bragdon, who is vice-president of the Goldfield Mining Company and president of the Goldfield Stock Exchange; Jennings R. Dortch of Nat F. Dortch & Sons of Louisville, Kentucky, prominent tobacco merchants of that State, is vice-president; Dr. T. E. Enloe of Nashville, Tennessee, a mining man of experience and prominently connected with a number of mining enterprises, is secretary; Judge H. F. Bartine, a leading attorney of this State, and an ex-member of Congress, is counsel; N. H. Truett, a prominent capitalist and mining man, is treasurer.Mr. Thomas McCabe, one of the best known practical mining men in the country, is superintendent of the company's lease. Mr. McCabe was at one time superintendent of the Tonopah Mining Company of Tonopah, Nevada, and to his ability and energy is due in a large measure the great success of the Mohawk Leasing & Development Company.
