Abstract
The Cliff Segerblom Artwork contains four pieces of Segerblom's artwork. One painting of a desert home in Nelson, Nevada titled "Afternoon in Nelson" from 1940, one drawing of the USS Hornet from 1969, and two watercolor paintings of Lake Mead and Sunrise Mountain. The First Annual Southern Nevada Art Exhibit originally displayed "Afternoon in Nelson" in Las Vegas, Nevada between January 27 and 28 in 1940. The USS Hornet drawing was created November 1969, depicting a fighter aircraft aboard the USS Hornet at Apollo 12's splashdown. The two watercolors were donated to the University in 1962 by the Clark County Panhellenic Association.

Biographical / Historical Note
Artist and photographer Cliff Segerblom was born August 1, 1915 in Los Angeles, California. He majored in art at the University of Nevada, Reno in 1934, and later met Genevieve "Gene" Wines. In 1938, they moved to Boulder City, Nevada where Segerblom worked as a photographer for the Bureau of Reclamation to photograph the Hoover Dam (Boulder Dam) project. They married in 1941 and moved to Panama, where Segerblom photographed the Third Locks Project on the Panama Canal. In 1969, Segerblom was invited to record the splashdown of Apollo 12. His drawings of the Apollo 12 splashdown are currently part of the United States Navy's art collection and digitized by the Naval Historical Foundation. He died on September 8, 1990.
