Abstract
The Kenneth Yerike Papers are comprised of video tapes, instructional manuals, casino operational instructions, playing cards, dice, and brochures that date from approximately 1970 to 2000 and document Yerike's involvement with establishing the Hyatt Regency and Regency Casino on Jeju Island, South Korea. The papers include information about how the Hyatt Regency Casino was established and how staff were trained, particularly as it relates to operating table games. The instructional manuals detail how to play table games such as craps, roulette, blackjack, and baccarat. The manuals are written in both Korean and English, with the majority of the manuals written in Korean.

The papers include information about how the Hyatt Regency Casino was established and how staff were trained, particularly as it relates to operating table games. The manuals are written in both Korean and English, with the majority of the manuals written in Korean. The video tapes provide instructions on how to play various table games. There are also recordings of lectures given by Yerike about various gaming topics. The collection also contain various playing cards, chips, and dice from Las Vegas, Nevada casinos, such as the Tropicana Hotel and Casino and the Aladdin Hotel and Casino, as well as playing cards from foreign countries. The dice are in various stages of production completion, meant to show the steps in creating a finished die.

Biographical / Historical Note
Kenneth Yerike (1947-) is a longtime Las Vegas, Nevada resident and President and CEO of May Enterprises, a gaming and hotel consulting company. Yerike served in the Army during the Vietnam War, and after his tour of duty he attended the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV). It was during his time at UNLV that Yerike became involved in the casino industry, as he dealt craps to pay for school. In 1976, Yerike graduated from UNLV with a bachelors degree in Business Administration. In 1980, Yerike graduated from Clark County Community College (CCCC) with an associates degree in Casino Management. While at CCCC, Yerike helped create video training programs that covered casino related topics such as policy, procedures, tables games, and internal controls. In 1984, Yerike returned to UNLV to teach a gaming management course. Also in 1984, Yerike was approached by Hyatt Asia and Wynn Empire of Hong Kong to act as an intermediary between the companies and the Korean Government to establish the Hyatt Regency and Regency Casino on Jeju Island, South Korea. The project was competed in 1986. In 1988, Yerike established May Enterprises and continues to serve as President and CEO.
