Biographical / Historical Note
Stephen Powell worked as a librarian for Special Collections at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas between 1970 and 1980. Powell created the first published gambling bibliography for Special Collections' holdings related to gaming. Along with Susan (Anderl) Jarvis, Powell developed what would become the Center for Gaming Research, a center dedicated to assisting researchers with topics across the gaming industry, including social, economic, political, and health impact studies.
