Biographical / Historical Note
The Friends of Southern Nevada Libraries (FOSNL) was a non-profit organization that provided volunteers and funding to library branches in Clark County, Nevada and the surrounding region from the 1970s until 2013. To raise money, FOSNL collected donated books and sold them at their warehouse and at book stores built in public libraries. Libraries submitted funding proposals to FOSNL for projects such as remodeling, educational programs, new furniture, and help building new libraries, such as the Rainbow Library in Las Vegas, Nevada. In 2008, the Las Vegas-Clark County Library District (LVCCLD) and FOSNL ended their partnership due to a legal dispute. FOSNL disbanded in 2013.
