Abstract
The KNPR: "Monday Night Jazz" Program Documentation and Recordings focus on jazz music played at the Four Queens Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada from 1982 to 1997. The materials contain the reel-to-reel audio tapes from the radio programs that were taped at the Four Queens Hotel, including unedited master recordings and the edited versions played on air by Nevada National Public Radio (KNPR). Materials also include contracts, newspaper clippings, correspondence, photographs, and jazz scheduling information related to the program.

Biographical / Historical Note
Local Las Vegas, Nevada radio station KNPR broadcast "Monday Night Jazz" on Monday evenings from the lounge at the Four Queens Hotel and Casino from 1982 to 1997. Nurtured in its formative years by the Clark County Library District, Nevada Public Radio was incorporated in December, 1975 as an independent, non-profit corporation. Its flagship station, KNPR, signed on the air March 24, 1980 as Nevada’s first National Public Radio (NPR) affiliated station.

Acquisition Note
Materials were donated to the Arnold Shaw Popular Music Research Center in 2002 by Nevada's National Public Radio (KNPR); accession number 2002-37. Materials were subsequently transferred to Special Collections by Ken Hanlon, director of the Center.
Processing Note
Material was processed by Joyce Moore in 2004. In 2014, as part of the legacy finding aid conversion project, Hana Gutierrez revised and enhanced the collection description to bring it into compliance with current professional standards. Subsequently Hana Gutierrez entered the data into ArchivesSpace. In 2015, Joyce Moore added the audio tapes to the collection.
