Biographical / Historical Note
The Soroptimist International of Henderson, Nevada was a volunteer organization working to improve the lives of women and girls. It was established sometime in the early 1970s. By 1994 it appears low membership rates caused the group to disband. In 2000 the club was re-established as the Soroptimist International of Henderson/Green Valley. Examples of local projects include "Dress a Child," a collaboration with Safe Nest to help provide children with school clothes and the "Women's Opportunity Award," which helped women caring for their families while trying to continue their education. Fundraising efforts included a Mother's Day Brunch and an annual golf putting tournament.
