Scope and Contents

The collection dates from 1920 to 2019 and is primarily comprised of business and organizational records, press, photographs, scrapbooks, audiovisual materials, awards, and ephemera documenting Mark L. Fine’s career as a real estate developer in Southern Nevada and his work with various government and community organizations. The bulk of the material dates from 1980 to 2005.

The development of Green Valley and Fine’s work as President of American Nevada Corporation (ANC), as well as other development projects and business ventures, including Summerlin, Continental National Bank, and Park Towers at Hughes Center, are documented through promotional materials, business plans, reports, proposals, and project binders. Fine’s non-profit government and community work with the Clark County School District School-Business Partnership Program, the Nevada Institute for Contemporary Art, the Nevada Development Authority, and several other organizations, most of which focus on economic development in Southern Nevada, is documented by reports, correspondence, memos, meeting minutes, etc.

Fine’s career as a real estate developer is also documented through newspaper and magazine articles, as well as some photographs, scrapbooks, and audiovisual materials. Audiovisual recordings of advertisements for development projects and Fine’s campaign for mayor, as well as news segments, make up most of the audiovisual series.
