Las Vegas,Nevada REVIEW - JOURNAL October 17, 1947 Vegas Valley Water District Progressing Plans for the formation of a water district in Las Vegas valley, to bring water from Lake Mead via the huge Basic Magnesium project into Las Vegas and environs, moved forward today as petitions calling upon the county com- mission to form such a district, were made ready for signatures. A. C. Grant, chairman of the strip area, south of Las Vegas, including Paradise valley and the hotel section on the Los An- geles highway. The other four divisions are within the city of Las Vegas proper and their boundaries will be defined when the election is scheduled. Grant called attention to the fact that the creation of this dis- trict and the provision of water for the valley, will not dis- turb or impair, in any manner, the tax structure of Clark county
