Biographical / Historical Note

Musician and arranger Kenneth (Ken) M. Tiffany, Jr. was born in 1936 and remembered always having a love of music. After learning various instruments he decided the trombone was his favorite. He played professionally all over the country with many noted swing bands before settling in Las Vegas, Nevada, where he was the lead trombone player at the Sahara Hotel for many years. Tiffany also played in other Strip hotel bands, participated in a 76 Trombones concert in Ham Hall on the campus of the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, and arranged music for many showroom headliners.

Tiffany passed away at the age of 63 on July 28, 1999.

Material was donated by the Arnold Shaw Popular Music Center in 2007; accession number 2007-02.

Material was processed by Joyce Moore in 2008. In 2014, as part of a legacy finding aid conversion project, Joyce Moore revised and enhanced the collection description to bring it into compliance with current professional standards and subsequently entered the data into ArchivesSpace.
