Abstract
The UNLV TV Audiovisual Collection (1980-2023) is comprised of recordings of television programs produced by UNLV TV, a media production facility housed within the Hank Greenspun School of Journalism and Media Studies at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV). The collection includes samples of various television programs which include special events, lectures, interviews with prominent speakers and visitors at UNLV, and campus and community related B-roll footage.

Collection is open for research. If use copies of the recordings do not exist, reformatting/production of use copies is required before access will be granted; this may delay research requests. Advanced notice is required.

Acquisition Note
Materials were transferred from UNLV TV in 2019 and 2023; accession numbers 2019-0146 and 2023-077. Additional materials were donated by Marcie Collins-Stout on behalf of Dan Lovil in 2023; accession number 2023-083.
Processing Note
In 2020, Tammi Kim processed the materials and created a finding aid in ArchivesSpace. In 2021, Sarah Jones updated to the finding aid to include digital files from outsourced vendor digitization. In 2023, Tammi Kim processed the 2023 addition and updated the finding aid. In 2023, Sarah Jones updated the finding aid with the additional materials donated by Marcie Collins-Stout. In 2023, select materials were shipped to an external vendor for digitization. Vendor staff inspected, cleaned, and reformatted physical items into digital files with both preservation (.mov/.wav) and access copies (.mp4/.mp3). In 2024, UNLV SCA staff ingested the files, reviewed for content and quality, and created summaries of each item. Physical items were retained once returned from the vendor.
