Abstract

The Maichle Family Films (approximately 1950-1959) consist of eight 8mm films made by Elizabeth and Robert E. Maichle during their life living in Southern Nevada. The films depict life at the Maichle ranch near the intersection of South Pearl Street and Tropicana Avenue, where they raised their son, Robert W. Maichle. The films also depict trips to Death Valley, Lake Mead, and parts of northern Nevada.

Scope and Contents Note

The Maichle Family Films (approximately 1950-1959) consist of eight 8mm films made by Elizabeth and Robert E. Maichle during their life living in Southern Nevada. The films depict life at the Maichle ranch near the intersection of South Pearl Street and Tropicana Avenue, where they raised their son, Robert W. "Bob" Maichle. Bob Maichle later owned and operated Nevada Auto Parts, taught classes at UNLV, was an Environmental Scientist programmer for Lockheed Martin, and was on the Board of Directors of Nevada Wild Life Federation. The films also depict trips to Death Valley, Lake Mead, and parts of northern Nevada.
